Syllabus and Questions:
The questions only require knowledge of the general school syllabus. StemCo uses the Cambridge and K-12 core syllabus as a rough guideline. All questions are designed by putting emphasis on understanding and application of core concepts and analytical thinking rather than remembering information or facts alone. Internet search can be useful, but is generally not enough to find the answers right away. We encourage students to try out StemCo challenge by registering on www.stemco.tech and get live results.
Duration:
All five competitions are open during the entire seven days competition period. Participants can take part in the competitions in any order during the competition period. This is convenient, as the participating student/s can start any competition at any time during this period. The timer starts only after the participant presses the Start button and finishes only when the student presses the Finish button or the 24 h timer runs out. The total time taken is used as a time management metric and affects the score used for determining ranks and awards. Therefore, completing the exam within the recommended time is important for winning an award. However, the time taken does not affect the topical mastery and skill-based metrics.
Medium:
Participants are encouraged to look up information online, watch videos to better understand a concept, read articles, use personal notes and so on - whatever resources are available to find the correct answer. StemCo competitions are designed to be taken individually via personal computer, tablet or mobile phone.
